A man was shocked to find himself unconscious at his home in Ottawa, Canada, this morning.
The man was awakened by his neighbour in the middle of the night and police arrived.
“I was in the bedroom, I was still awake, I had my phone, I got out of bed, I put my clothes on, and I just went to the kitchen and I was like, ‘Hey, this is weird,'” said the man, who asked not to be named out of fear of retaliation.
He woke up to find the man had his arm around him and his hand wrapped around his neck.
“He just was holding me there, like it was an embrace.”
The man then tried to push the man away, but the man pushed him away again, causing him to fall to the floor.
“The police came and I said, ‘Where’s my phone?'” said the witness.
“They put handcuffs on me and they told me to put my phone down and not to scream.
So I put the phone down on the floor and I’m like, I don’t know how this happened, but I just can’t take it any more.”
The witness said police told him he could call the 911 number from the police station, but that he was not allowed to call the number.
“It’s just the weirdest feeling ever,” the man said.
“You have to say ‘Hi, my name is Jeff,’ and they’ll be like, “Hey, that’s Jeff, he’s my neighbour.’
The neighbour told CBC that the man’s reaction was “just a shock” and he hopes he doesn’t experience a similar situation in the future.”
My neighbour was really, really nice, very understanding and he said, “Well, I guess it’s not your fault.
