This milkshake is a perfect way to kick off your day.
It’s also delicious and a great addition to any dessert menu.
The milkshakes are made with milk and sugar, and have a chocolate flavour.
You can use either milk or plain sugar.
The recipe calls for the milk to be mixed with half a cup of chocolate and half a teaspoon of vanilla.
It comes in an iced version and a regular version.
Ingredients 2 1/2 cups unsalted butter, softened 3 cups powdered sugar 1 1/4 cups milk (80 grams) 3 tablespoons milk flavouring (60 grams) 2 large eggs, lightly beaten 1/3 cup finely chopped walnuts, optional Directions In a large saucepan, melt the butter over medium heat.
Add the powdered sugar and whisk until smooth.
Reduce heat to low, then whisk in the milk flavour.
Simmer for five minutes, then stir in the eggs.
Pour into a bowl and stir in walnuts.
Pour over the milk mixture, stirring until completely smooth.
Add more milk as needed to get the consistency you prefer.
Pour in the vanilla and beat with an electric mixer on low speed for one minute.
Reduce speed to medium-low and beat on high speed for 30 seconds.
The mixture will be soft and slightly runny.
The final consistency will be like a thick cake batter.
You will need to remove the bowl from the heat to cool it down.
To make the cake: Beat the eggs and sugar in a medium bowl until pale and fluffy.
Beat in the flour, baking powder and salt.
Add in the butter mixture and mix until smooth and creamy.
Add a little more milk if the batter is too thick.
Stir in the walnuts and pour over the batter.
Refrigerate until ready to use.
Notes I use a vanilla bean, but the vanilla bean works great too.
It makes a lovely icing on top of the milkshak.
Recipe Notes If you are using milk instead of sugar, you can make the milksilk a little thicker by adding more sugar to the batter before you start mixing.
If you’re using plain sugar, add a teaspoon or so of sugar per cup of milk. 3.2.2925
